Mixed Media, found objects

I'm a mixed media collage artist. I love acrylic paint, vintage paper and jewelry, packing materials, stencils, and especially rusty things and feathers found on my dog walks. I love to “junk” at estate sales, antique malls, and garage sales, looking for items that spark my imagination and creativity. I believe in upcycling materials to reduce waste and instead create art. I weave layers and layers of these mixed media items on canvas to create visual stories. Sometimes to work through life’s challenges and celebrate joys. Sometimes to spotlight a particular item. I enjoy adding charms, beads, chains, and other items that move and are interactive for the viewer.

This piece was created to process the devastation of my mom's dementia and being forgotten.
