Layered acrylic mixed with various mediums to create textures.

As an emerging abstract painter living and working outside of Washington, D.C. in Potomac, Maryland, I use nature as a vehicle for my creativity. I believe art should be tactile - drawing the collector into the piece itself in order to evoke an exchange of feelings and memories. In this case, "Into the Great Wide Open" was inspired by the great vastness of the horizon. It was created by layering acrylic with various mediums to create depth and texture to reflect the patterns found as the sky meets the earth.
